Sometimes people put walls around certain styles of music, and try to isolate a genre and not contaminate it with any other style. I do agree that it is important to understand the "pure" historical context of the banjo and it's evolution, however there is only one Eric Clapton, one Earl Scruggs, and one Ralph Stanley. Banjo lessons are focused on YOU, encompassing many approaches, genres, and techniques. Banjo lessons may include-
